BMFA F3F League Results
( with grateful thanks to Mike Shellim www.rc-soar.com )
The scores below tell most of
the story, but the astute amongst you will notice that if John McCurdy and Pete Rundle
could have squeezed another competition in they may have made the top 5 rather than 18th
and 19th.
The league standard continues
to grow - young pilots like Cubbit, Law, Oldman and Jenkins are reaching that breakthrough
point where they're going to start winning rounds, and then anything is possible.
The top 10 reads like a rogues
gallery of pilots you would not bet against in any competition in the world. Certainly,
Dakin, Southall, McMeekin, Bennett, Phillips and McCurdy all have the experience, talent
and maturity to grace any team.
No great changes on the
production plane front.
The Acacia II seems to have
it's arse end under control now, and without losing any of its natural pace.
The Pike WR gained a few more
notable converts.
The Wizard Compact hasn't
gained popularity yet but I'm guessing that another ET import, the X21, may gain favour next
year.
The NYX F3F looks effective,
but it's damn expensive. And no one seems willing to risk the money until it starts
winning - catch 22.
The Pike Brio prototype is without
doubt the most F3F optimised plane I have ever flown. For me it is the perfect compromise
and made my life easy by helping me to the largest league winning margin for as many years
as I can remember. Production versions should be around in the first quarter of next
year.
Anyway that's enough for now -
I'm off to do some video editing whilst the rain is still lashing down.
