Great news... CCM have started to produce the Martinet
commercially. The model was a big hit at the Viking Race in 2008 where it really
excelled, especially when the conditions were light.
I haven't handled a production
model yet but from the photos the quality looks good, which is in keeping with CCM's other
offerings. You can't help but marvel at the tailplane retention method; why hasn't
anyone done that before - it's brilliant! And before you worry about the weight,
just take a look at the scales.
I just hope that this model
gets a fair chance to show its potential in the UK and doesn't suffer like the Sting,
which despite being a classic airframe never quite made its mark in the way that it
deserved.
