We've been hoping to hold an
F3F on Lundy for a while and at last we can do it. You'll understand why we're so
keen when you look at the Google Map here. We will be on the island from 2nd July to 7th July.
If you want to play email me to confirm
and then email Lynda with your
accommodation needs ***the only accomodation left is camping - but it's near the pub!***.
If you're already signed up read this http://www.juneaustin.co.uk/stayingonlundy.html
Lundy lies off the coast of
North Devon where the Atlantic ocean meets the Bristol Channel with nothing between it and
America. It's a granite outcrop that's three and a half miles long and half a mile
wide covered with a flat grass top. There's sheep, a pub, a shop and spectacular
slopes that can be flown in any direction.
We'll agree the days we
actually fly F3F once we've got it booked up, so get booking - see below.

Getting the boat
There are no cars on Lundy, everyone goes across on the boat from Ilfracombe or Bideford,
and yes... to break up the two hour journey there is a bar on board! Return trip
around £56. If you put all your stuff in a proper model box it'll cost you £15
extra.
Seasoned fliers to Lundy
transport planes either as hand luggage or in a full model box. If you plan to take
just a couple of planes then a secure hand carrier is sufficient.
Otherwise take a model box like you would on
an airline. Assume the deckhands will be like baggage handlers so pack accordingly.
The box should ideally have handles to allow lifting. Boxes are winched aboard and
at the end of the journey winched onto the landing point. Your planes are then taken
up to a communal point for collection in the village. For further information
regarding transportation is available from Joe
Cubitt.
