Each day you must be at the Bwlch T junction
of the A4107 and A4061 (map here http://www.knewt.com/bwlch/thebwlch.htm ) by 8.00 in time for a 9:00
start. Each day the last round in progress will be that running at 17:30. If the
conditions are light and a round started before 17:30 is unlikely to be completely
finished that day the Competition Director will consider using group scoring so that we
don't lose several hours of competition time. Group scoring will be a last resort, and
will not be used if at all possible.
Frequencies and insurance
All pilots have confirmed they hold insurance. If you want to let me have a third
frequency, drop me an e-mail.
Teams
There will be a trophy for each member of the top three man team. You do not have to
fly as a team, but if you want to you must notify me of your team members and name
by 31 August, as we will need to spread you out over the start
list. Teams can be your country, your club, your model, your IQ, whatever you
want...
Banquet
We are organising a get together on the Saturday night. As there will be so many
pilots we are hiring a hall near the famous Haywain pub in Bridgend and will organise a
hot and cold buffet with a bar. We are also trying to set up an F3F simulator and
projector to see what inventive drinking games we can come up with...
Price will be around Ģ10 per head. Please
e-mail Paul Fram by 20 August to
confirm you will be coming and if you have any special dietary requirements.
Additional information
Bases will be set back as far as possible, this will allow the safety line to go back a
little also. The bases will be marked in the normal forward position by an additional
marker.
Three models per competitor are allowable.
At the end of each day the scores will be
calculated. The following day the pilots will fly in reverse order compared with the
previous days results. For example, if you are in the lead at the end of day 1 you will be
the last to fly in each round the following day. The idea is to maximise the chance of
pilots of the same pace flying in the same air and to add a little excitement as the race
builds.
There will only be 30 seconds ready time.
The professional buzzer men are being
strongly instructed to acknowledge any errors and the pilot will refly
immediately. We all know that some apparently late buzzes are just great flying, others
are buzzer man error and it is this that we want to acknowledge and eradicate in a
supportive way for the buzzer man.
Entree fee is Ģ25 - payable on the day
first day of the competition - which covers the wages of trained buzzer men, helpers, land
fees, Eurotour fees and awesome trophies.
